Using Risume
These Terms of Service govern your use of Risume's website, resume editor, AI features, exports, and related services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you use Risume on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
Accounts
Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and must tell us promptly about suspected unauthorized access.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Risume. If local law requires parental consent for online services, you may use Risume only with that consent.
Your content
You retain ownership of resume content, files, prompts, and other materials you provide. You give Risume a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and format that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service or complete actions you request.
You are responsible for having the rights to content you upload and for ensuring that your resume and job applications are accurate and lawful.
AI features
AI features can draft, rewrite, summarize, research, and format content. Results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular role. Review all output before relying on it or sending it to an employer.
Do not use Risume to impersonate another person, fabricate credentials for deceptive purposes, make unlawful employment decisions, or submit content that violates someone else's rights.
Plans, credits, and payment
Some features require a paid plan or AI credits. Current prices, allowances, renewal periods, and plan limits appear on the Pricing page and at checkout. Taxes may apply. Stripe processes payments and may present additional payment terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the period shown at checkout until canceled. You can cancel through the billing portal. A cancellation stops future renewals and does not remove access already paid for through the end of the billing period.
Plan credits refresh according to the plan and do not roll over. Purchased credit packs expire when stated at purchase. Except where required by law, charges are nonrefundable once the paid access or credits have been made available.
Lifetime access
A Lifetime plan provides access to the individual product features and recurring AI allowance described at the time of purchase for as long as Risume continues to offer the applicable service. It does not promise access to future team products, APIs, white-label services, human services, third-party paid data, or materially more expensive premium models unless we expressly include them.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass service security or limits;
- access accounts or data without permission;
- automate high-volume use, scrape the service, or resell access without written permission;
- upload malware or content intended to damage the service; or
- use Risume or its output to build a competing model or service in a way that violates these terms or applicable law.
Our service and intellectual property
Risume and its software, design, branding, templates, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms give you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the service for your own lawful purposes.
We may add, change, or remove features and limits. We will use reasonable care to avoid materially reducing paid access during a current billing period without notice.
Third-party services
Risume depends on third-party services for infrastructure, authentication, AI, analytics, payments, email, and other functions. Their services may be governed by separate terms, and we are not responsible for third-party products or websites outside our control.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Risume at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these terms, create risk for users or the service, fail to pay amounts due, or if we are legally required to do so.
Where practical, we will provide notice and a chance to resolve the issue. Terms that logically continue after termination, including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits, will remain in effect.
Disclaimers and liability
Risume is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a resume or AI result will lead to an interview, offer, or other outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Risume and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities. Our total liability for claims related to the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Risume during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those places, these provisions apply only to the extent allowed by law.
Changes, disputes, and contact
We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights. Continuing to use the service after the updated terms take effect means you accept them.
Applicable law governs these terms without regard to conflict of law rules. Before filing a formal claim, contact us and allow 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing here removes rights that cannot be waived under the laws where you live.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@risume.com.
