Information we collect
We collect information you provide or create while using Risume:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, and sign-in provider.
- Resume content, including work history, education, contact details, formatting choices, prompts, job links, and files you upload.
- Billing information, such as your plan, transaction status, and purchased credits. Stripe processes payment card details directly. Risume does not store full card numbers.
- Product and device information, including feature usage, browser and device details, approximate location derived from an IP address, and error or security logs.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- create and secure your account;
- save, render, tailor, and export your resumes;
- process the AI requests you choose to send;
- operate billing, credits, support, and service communications;
- detect abuse, debug failures, and protect the service; and
- understand and improve how Risume works.
We do not sell personal information or use resume content to serve third-party advertising.
AI processing
When you use the resume agent, the prompt, relevant resume content, attached files, and job information may be sent to our AI providers so they can complete your request. We limit that transfer to the information needed for the feature you selected.
AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. You control whether to keep or change the resulting resume content and should review it before submitting a job application.
When we share information
We may share information with:
- service providers that support hosting, authentication, AI, analytics, email, file processing, payments, and customer support;
- authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, Risume, or the public;
- a buyer or successor if Risume is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets; and
- another party when you direct us or consent to the sharing.
These providers may process information only to perform services for us and are expected to protect it.
Google account information
If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic account information needed to authenticate you, such as your name, email address, and profile image. Risume's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and resume information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records for fraud prevention, security, billing, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
To request account or data deletion, email support@risume.com. We will verify the request before deleting information associated with the account.
Security and international processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect your information. No online service can promise absolute security, so keep your account credentials private and let us know if you suspect unauthorized access.
Risume and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those locations may have data protection laws different from the laws where you live.
Your choices
You can edit resume content directly, choose what to send to the agent, and manage billing from your account. Browser settings can limit certain cookies, although required authentication and security features may not work without them.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information. Contact us to make a request. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or contact your local data protection authority.
Children
Risume is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date at the top and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights.
Questions or requests can be sent to support@risume.com. You can also review our Terms of Service.
